Introducing the next captain in our spotlight series, Emma Honey!

Introducing the next captain in our spotlight series, Emma Honey!

Our longest reigning captain currently at the club Emma has been an integral part of KFCC for the past 8 years, originally joining to play for the Women's side on Friday nights. Since then, she has become a cornerstone of our club.

In 2017, Emma took on the captain's armband and the highlight of this reign so far has to be leading the Women's 1st XI to the County final at Essex County Ground. Despite a tough second innings, Emma's leadership shone through, contributing a resilient 25* Retired Not Out.

Beyond the pitch, Emma has been dedicated to nurturing the next generation of cricketers. She actively supports the Junior Girls to Women's cricketing pathway, identifying and selecting talented younger players for her Friday night side.

Emma also plays a pivotal role with helping the coaches, accompanying the girls' softball sides to games, and even spearheading taster sessions to introduce more women to the wonderful world of cricket and the KFCC family.

Recognizing the need for change, Emma has been at the forefront of efforts to encourage and recruit women players for our adult Saturday and Sunday sides. Last season, she made 15 appearances across these sides, even earning a debut for the first team and picking up a wicket in the 7 overs she bowled.

Emma's trailblazing efforts are paving the way for more women to join our ranks, with the hope of seeing them excel on the pitch and, who knows, maybe securing another memorable day out at the county ground in the near future!
