Club is awarded an Outstanding Service to Cricket Award

The club has been awarded Outstanding Service to Cricket Award (fondly known as an OSCA) for the clubhouse project. Congratulation to everyone at the club who contributed to the project.

Graham Smith (Essex CCC Cricket Development Manager (Business Support & Coach Education) said:

‘I wanted to remind everyone of the tremendous effort put in by everyone at Kelvedon Cricket Club under the Nat West Cricket Force banner in 2018.

The club have undertaken a major extension to their clubhouse starting at the beginning of January 2018. They have been planning over 10 years and working closely with the ECB & County Board throughout as plans changed.

Whilst the structure was built by professionals (known to the club) an erstwhile team of volunteers has been working round the clock to ensure the project was finished in time for the new season. Despite the bad weather they managed to complete enough to start the season, with painting, tiling, additional woodwork for new benches in the changing rooms. They have dug sewage pits and generally worked alongside builders (where it was permissible) to reduce costs.

The team of volunteers have been amazing giving so many hours of free time during the week when most people are at work.

Amongst all this work the club has continued to run all its usual School Coaching, All Stars, Ladies Cricket, Junior programmes & Adult games as well as hosting other District Matches’
